The Concord Singers is a non-auditioning women’s chorus that strives to achieve high quality through dedication and hard work. We offer a friendly musical home to both novice and experienced singers. Our members come from many age groups, professions and backgrounds.
The chorus was founded in 1977 as a function of the Summit Area Newcomers Club. It was service oriented, presenting concerts for church groups and people unable to get out and attend musical events. In 1979, the name was changed to the Summit Area Women's Chorus to reflect its independence from the Newcomers Club, subsequently it was named the Concord Singers, It is currently under the direction of Michael Sanflippo, and accompanied by Caroline Parody. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings from September to May at Calvary Church in Summit.
